augment
Augment is a program written in SuperCollider that I wrote in order to use algorithmic composition methods in live performance. I’ve added a page to this site about it where you can find more audio examples of what the system does, how it works, and why live algorithmic composition is so interesting.
‘Roderick’ is an example of one potential use of the system. It takes a fragment of one of Rick Roderick’s videotaped lectures and processes it in a style reminiscent of experimental drum’n’bass music.

Augment x Outrun the sunlight
Interlude tracks designed for my performance with Outrun The Sunlight at Techabilitation Festival. All tracks were built with Augment, a computer instrument that I coded to make generative algorithmic music on-the-fly. Many of the sounds in the track are made from heavily-processed previous Outrun the Sunlight performances.
Outrun The Sunlight will have a new album dropping in 2021. We’re very excited about it.
Commissions For Ballet Chicago
Little Machine and Melt were written for and performed by the company at Ballet Chicago. Little Machine is written for 4 hands piano and Melt is piano for 2 hands. Grow Everywhere was never performed, but I liked it a lot, so I posted it anyway.
